The orange flag is a safety item required in many states to alert other boaters that a rider is down in the water or a tow rope is in the water. For those states that don't require it by law, I highly recommend using one for keeping all your riders out of harm's way. I particularly like this version with the suction cup as it's easy to attach to a windshield or any fiberglass area of the boat. You can just stick it up while you are taking a break swimming around the boat.
